Recent coffee shop visits
- Maggie and I went to Denver this past weekend and went on a self guided coffee shop tour. In order of visits.
- Copper Door
- Drip coffee & an espresso. Very good spot, solid coffee. I liked the espresso (served properly) more than the drip. 7/10 would go again.
- Nowhere Coffee
- Highlight stop. The owner was from Amarillo Texas and moved to Denver a week after college and had been there ever since. He looked like he was in his mid-late 30s so a solid amount of time in Denver. 1 espresso and 1 drink I asked “Make me whatever you want - just no dairy” and he whipped up an oat milk cappucino but the oatmilk was infused with cinnamon and maybe a tiny bit of brown sugar. Either way it was amazing. 10/10 would go again. I think the cappucino was our favorite coffee from the entire trip and maybe of recent memory.
- Also the owner visits Austin every once and a while and knew about figure 8 which was his favorite spot.
- We asked for some of his favorite coffee and he pointed us towards Crema and said “Denver wouldnt have a coffee scene if it wasnt for Crema” (conveniently Crema was a mile down the road)
- Crema Coffee
- Espresso (served properly) + yogurt bowl. Espresso was La Cabra’s Catalina Manuel roast which was a Guatemalan bean and oh so flavorful. The yogurt bowl was also very solid. 8/10 would go again.
Recent running & mileage
- We ran Indy Monumental! 😃 Such a blast and I cant wait for the next marathon!
- Current mileage as of mid-Nov 2025 = 1,318 (11/19/25)
- Last week was 3 as part of recovery. This week I’m estimating 21-24. Legs feel heavy 10 days post race but in general recovering nicely.
- Next week hoping to hit 25-27. Next week is also thanksgiving so we will do the Turkey trot downtown. Right now I am contemplating running to the start (~3 miles from home), running the 5 miles and maybe run home. That would be my long run for the week.
- As I recovery my aim is to hit 25M per week as a minimum - try to be around 30M+ if im feeling good but I also want to use December as a way to recover and maintain. Really the goal of Dec is not to lose a ton of fitness.
- We shall see what happen in Dec since Maggie and I are in Europe for 3 weeks going between Paris, Dublin + Galway, and London.
- We plan on doing Barry’s classes and I know of a few planned runs such as running at the track in Paris where you can see the eiffel tower as well as a long run through Phoenix park and one along the water (weather pending) while in Galway.
TV suggestions
- Slow Horses, Apple TV, season 5 just came out. Very reminiscent of season 1 in terms of it being more dialogue driven rather than action.
- Starting 5 season 2 on Netflix 🏀
